BALBOA PARK
The nation's largest urban cultural park with 15 Major museums including, the Natural History Museum, Art Museum, Science Museum, Air and Space Museums and many more. For young children, don't miss the Carousel, the miniature Railroad and the model Railroad museum and Puppet Theater. There are also ballet and choral performance, live music, vendors, Botanical Gardens and a Japanese Tea Garden. This is one of the most beautifully landscaped parks in the world and is best enjoyed on foot. There are also fine restaurants in the Balboa Park for special events and family dining.

BIRCH AQUARIUM
Located high above La Jolla Shores beach and Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Birch Aquarium at Scripps is renowned for perhaps the best ocean views in all of La Jolla. Visitors from around the world marvel at the amazing marine life exhibits, from sharks to seahorses to delicate jellyfish. Don't forget the tidal pool where children can actually touch sea slugs, starfish and shark egg sacs and kelp with educational instruction. Make a visit to Birch Aquarium at Scripps soon and enjoy San Diego's "best ocean views."

CORONADO ISLAND
Rich in history, natural beauty and a charming ocean village atmosphere, Coronado Island and the famous Del Coronado Hotel are not to be missed.
Bordered by the Pacific Ocean, Glorietta Bay and San Diego Bay, this picturesque seaside city is linked to the Southern California coastline and the city of San Diego by the graceful and stately San Diego - Coronado Bridge, and to the south by a narrow strip of land known as the Silver Strand.
The Del Coronado Hotel, affectionately called the Del, is a great place to enjoy a special family meal. Easter brunch is especially delectable.

DEL MAR
Del Mar, just 10 miles north of La Jolla offers a 2.5 miles stretch of Sandy Beach. Excellent conditions exist for surfing, boogie boarding, swimming and just beach combing in the sun. Dog lovers will enjoy bringing their dogs to dog beach on the northern part of town.
Depending on the time of year, Torrey Pines State Park is a great spot for a long hike culminating on the top of a bluff overlooking the ocean. The Del Mar Fairgrounds come to life in the summer with one of the largest fairs in southern California featuring farm animals, shows, live bands and lots of rides, games and fried food. Racing season is the time to see and be seen at the Del Mar Turf Club.

DEL MAR TURF CLUB
Del Mar Thoroughbred Club with its gorgeous Spanish Mission architecture is one of the prettiest tracks in the US. This masterpiece was the dream of actor and singer Bing Crosby, and became a reality in 1937 and his theme song for the track, "Where the Turf Meets the Surf" still plays before every card. This is the place to be during racing season, just wear a new hat for Opening Day.
